Reflection on use of Classroom Website.

I think that this semester we have done a lot of new and creative things that will help teachers in the new technology age. One thing that we have done that I find especially important and helpful is the classroom website. I think that the key to teaching is to interact not only with the students but with the parents as well. With the classroom website, interacting and keeping everyone up to date is quick and easy.

Personally I want to teach health. Health is often a very tricky and can ba a very controversial topic to teach. Often times parents feel "out of the loop" or as if they are left out. By creating a classroom website parents can stay involved in what their child is learning. This comes especially handy in topics such as sex education. Parents often feel that is their job to discuss, by giving them acess to the curriculum they can become more familiar with it and be better equipted to teach their child about sensitive topics.

I think technology is ultimately going to rule the classroom ;however, I have always said that it is not the technology that makes a good teacher. A good teacher can utilize technology to further their lesson. The teachers that soley depend on technology to do their jobs will not be around for long. Heart is the central key to a good teacher.
